Been tracing my family tree back to when we lived in it!
Actually that is a Disney gorilla. Taken a few years back in Animal Kingdom or some kind of kingdom in Orlando, Fl. These guys are really huge!

These are actually wild, no really wild, Rhesus monkeys that live along the Silver River in Florida. While not big foot, there is a notion that some sort of bi pedal ancestor can really make it in the wilds with our southern friends. Now for those of my friends who don't believe in the Darwinian Theory, good. It is a relief to know that is not my Aunt, and that God put us all here separately for a purpose. Evidently these were brought to Florida by humans as a tourist attraction in the 30's and have thrived. The boat ride from the landing is outstanding on this extraordinarly clear river. You can see to depths of 30 feet with ease. Of course the usual suspects are always present. They are the snakes, blue herons, green back herons, great and snowy egrets and the ever present cormorants. Not to mention turtles the size of automobile tires.
One of the little feet out begging along the shore. Unfortunately their human descendants feed them as they pass by. Mabye this is where Washington got the idea of welfare! As in any natural setting, not a good idea. Always got to wonder, as in a zoo, what are the animals thinking as these strange big two legged creatures throw morsels of food at them. Just sayin.
The River is spectacular and can be traveled by motor boat, kyak, or canoes. There are tour boats which can pretty much monopolize the river scene as it passes. But the critters are used to it and pop right back up after it passes. Like the critter below!
